I don't know about you, but I needed a break from grammar rules! I've got ideas for more, and will get back to them eventually, but wanted to focus on something else I love. Typos! My mom found a really good one, posted it on Facebook, and had a lot of people respond with their own funny typos.

One of my all-time favorites from my own books, which was happily caught before the book went to press:
ReplyDeleteThe phrase was supposed to read "a well-mannered gentleman" but, instead, read thus, "a well-manured gentleman."
Well-manured? I don't even want to know what that entails.
From my latest story: "We lead deeply spiritual lies here." That was supposed to be deeply spiritual "lives."
ReplyDeleteI wish I could think of a good one, but the only one that comes to mind is, "Let's eat Grandpa!" instead of, "Let's eat, Grandpa!" That's an oldie, but goodie.

When I worked at my TV station in Idaho, we would sometimes be in a hurry to get graphics ready for the newscasts. There was a show on CBS at the time called "Public Eye". Sadly, one day our graphic person put together a last minute graphic to promote it and in their haste left out the letter "l" of the first word. Oh dear . . .
