Help Me Name My Series!

For those of you who've read my book, I need ideas on what to call my series! And for those of you who haven't read my book, I still need help. :-) Basically, I'll accept suggestions from anyone. :-)

The first book comes out this July, so I need to come up with the name as soon as possible.

For information on what my book is about, check out my publisher's site here and/or my website here (both will open in new windows).

The name needs to be something that would appeal to people ages 12 and up, especially YA boys.

The world where everything takes place (besides Earth) is called Edana. (eh-DAWN-nuh)
The main character's name is Jacob Clark.
The first book is called The Key of Kilenya.

Submit your answers either here (as a comment) or by sending me an email: ap AT andreapearsonbooks DOT com - replace the AT with @ and DOT with .)

The winner will be thanked in the acknowledgement section of this book, and I'll name a character in book two after him/her.

If there are any questions, please ask. :-)

You guys rock! Thank you, thank you, thank you! :-)

  1. I might suggest something having to do with keys or locks. (Yeah, that's not TOTALLY obvious, right?) But having not read it, I'm not sure I can be very helpful.

  2. I just started snooping on your blog and website. How exciting! (and I thought the post on drinking more water was cool). Hey, are you going to do something similar to Jenni - that is, sign copies of your book and have a give away? If so, I'd love to put it on both my author and personal blogs, plus I'll tweet it and facebook it. Good luck naming the series. :)

  7. Kilenya chronicles, or The chronicles of Kilenya. The kingdom of Kilenya. Kilenian chronicles. Tales of Kilenya. I'll work on more.

  8. Michelle: I'd love to do book giveaways. That's a great idea. :-) Could you (if you see this response :-)) send me an email (ap AT andreapearsonbooks DOT com) and tell me a bit more how those kinds of things work? I 'm fairly new to the whole world of getting published. :-)

I really, really like Keys of(to) the Kingdom. Too bad Garth Nix's series is so close to that name.

The Legends of Edana is also a favorite, as is a mix between Kristen and Ninja Monkey's suggestions: Edana Chronicles.

I think it might take me a bit more time to decide. Any other suggestions in the meantime?

  9. Is Edana the name of the world it takes place in? This is where you letting me read your book would have been helpful :) How about Edana Adventures, or Adventures in Edana. Perhaps Tales of Edana, or Jacob's journeys. I'll keep working on it. Sorry if I repeat people, I didn't reread all the suggestions.

  12. I've FINALLY decided on the name for my series: Chronicles of Edana (without the "The"). Kristen, you won. :-)

Now... if I can figure out how to get a hold of you. If you see this post, send me an email: ap AT andreapearsonbooks DOT com, and let me know which name you'd like me to use for the character in book two. Thank you so much!

And thanks to everyone else! It really was a difficult decision (as you can see from how long it took me to respond. :-)).
